Publishing Workshop Training.

University of Embu organised a Publishing Workshop Training  for postgraduate students on 21st November 2019, where they were highly mentored and enlightened on various tools that will enable them to write outstanding Thesis and how to keep away from predatory journals. for more information ....click here. To get the workshops presentations ...click here

Digital Newspaper.

University of Embu Library has launched a Digital Newspaper Section, which is equipped with six computers that has access to Daily Nation, Business Daily, The Standard, The Nairobian  Newspapers.

International Open Acess Week 2019

UoEm library held Open Access week on 21st -25th October 2019. This was an annual international event, aimed at promoting access to open-access electronic information resources. The event was conducted by Library staff and Knowledge Ambassadors. On the last day, Friday 25th, participants who won the Open Access week were given awards by Prof. Mugendi, VC University of Embu.

 

   

Enhancing human capacity through relevant, market-driven programs and youth development

Njuri High School and Kenyoho Secondary School visited the University of Embu Library where they were mentored, guided and enlightened on their personal, professional and academic decisions with an aim to prepare them for the University life.

Library and Information Science Students Mentorship

The library hosted Information Studies students on 24th May 2019. The event aimed at mentoring the students pursuing library and information science. The topics covered were the role of information professionals on 21st Century and job opportunities in information sciences. There were also interactive sessions on library services where the students interacted with the library staff. 

   

Study Spaces and Discussion Room (INFORMATION COMMONS)

The Library provides a choice of study spaces to suit different work preferences including silent study areas with desks where you can plug in your laptop, individual study carrels, computer workstations, or discussion areas with tables for group work. Information Commons or the discussion rooms provide collaborative areas. This room is located on the Ground floor and open 24/7.
